Cornista
Como instrumentista, inició sus estudios de corno francés a los 16 años, en 1996, en el núcleo San Cristóbal del Sistema de Orquestas Juveniles e Infantiles. Su primer profesor fue el maestro Jhonny Maldonado. Durante su formación en El Sistema, participó en clases magistrales impartidas por los profesores venezolanos Javier Aragón, Fernando Ruiz, Ulises Aragón, Andrés Aragón, Joel Arias, Carlos Martos y Raúl Díaz. Otros maestros de El Sistema que influyeron en su formación como instrumentista de viento metal fueron los profesores Gentil Ramírez, Jairo Hernández, Antoine Duhamel, Jesús Pérez y Alfredo D’Adonna.
Entre el año 2000 y el 2015 integró la fila de corno de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Infantil (OSNIV), Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Juvenil (OSNJV) y la Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar de Venezuela (OSSBV), todas ellas dirigidas por el Mtro. Gustavo Dudamel, así como el Venezuelan Brass Ensemble, dirigido por el Mtro. Thomas Clamor, participando en más de 35 giras internacionales. Como músico, fue dirigido por maestros como José Antonio Abreu (+), Claudio Abbado (+), Sir. Simón Rattle, Daniel Baremboim, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos, John Williams, Gustavo Dudamel, entre otros.
Entre 2000 y 2005, Luis asistió y participó activamente en clases magistrales internacionales de corno francés dictadas por reconocidos maestros, entre ellos Stefan Dohr, Fergus McWilliam y Markus Maskuniitty (Filarmónica de Berlín); Kalervo Kulmala (Academia Sibelius de Finlandia); Alessio Allegrini (Orquesta del Festival de Lucerna); Jörg Brückner (Filarmónica de Múnich); David Bryant (ex corno solista de la Filarmónica de Colonia); Jeff Nelsen (Canadian Brass); Bruce Heim (Sonus Brass); Manuel Pérez Ortega (Spanish Brass); y Edward Brown (Sistema de Orquestas de Chile), entre otros.
En el ámbito de las presentaciones especiales en las que participó como miembro de El Sistema, se puede mencionar el concierto de gala de la OSNIV en la Exposición Mundial “Expo Hannover 2000”, Concierto especial por la infancia en la Sede de las Naciones Unidas en New York 2002, entre otros, y con la orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar el Concierto de Inauguración de la Programación Cultural de los Juegos Olímpicos “Londres 2012”, en Stirling (UK), el Concierto de Gala con motivo de la entrega del premio Príncipe de Asturias 2008 al Maestro José Antonio Abreu en Oviedo-España, el opening de los “Premios Grammy Latino” junto a la agrupación “Calle 13”, en las Vegas (USA) 2011, el Concierto “School for the ear” del Festival de Salzburgo en 2012, la Grabación de la Banda Sonora de la Pelicula “Libertador”, el Concierto “Maestra Vida”, junto a Rubén Blades en 2012, los conciertos de debut de la OSSBV en Turquia (Estambul) y los Emiratos Arabes (Oman y Abu Dhabi), y el Concierto de Gala Preestreno de la Sala de Conciertos Philharmonie Paris en 2015, entre muchos otros.
Tambíen participó como músico en importantes encuentros inter-orquestas, como el de la OSNIV y la Orquesta del Conservatorio Manhattan School of Music, en 2001, el de la OSNIV y la Orquesta del Conservatorio New England, en 2002, el de la OSSBV y la Orquesta Sinfónica de Gotemburgo en 2011, el de la Orquesta Simón Bolívar y la Joven Orquesta Nacional de España 2012, el de la OSSBV y la Orquesta de la Radio de Francia en 2012 y 2014, y las Ediciones del Festival Mahler 2012 y Festival Tchaikovsky 2014 entre la Orquesta Simón Bolívar y la Orquesta Filarmónica de Los Ángeles.

Horn Player
"As a musician, he began his French horn studies in 1996 in Venezuela. His first teacher was Maestro Jhonny Maldonado in San Cristóbal. During his time within El Sistema, he participated in masterclasses led by prominent Venezuelan instructors, including Javier Aragón, Fernando Ruiz, Ulises Aragón, Andrés Aragón, Joel Arias, Carlos Martos, and Raúl Díaz. Other mentors who significantly influenced his development as a brass player include Gentil Ramírez, Jairo Hernández, Antoine Duhamel, Jesús Pérez, and Alfredo D’Adonna."
Between 2000 and 2015, he played French horn in the National Children's Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (OSNIV), the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (OSNJV), and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela (OSSBV)—all conducted by Maestro Gustavo Dudamel—as well as the Venezuelan Brass Ensemble, conducted by Maestro Thomas Clamor. He participated in over 35 international tours.
